Write, illustrate, and self-publish a story book about exploration, discovery and friendship for readers big and small.
Vision & Goals
• Create a story inspired by something deeply-rooted in my heart
• Make content digestible and relatable to readers of all ages
• Work with my hands by using mixed media—paint, ink, paper
• Document the process through photos and blurbs
• Learn something new—self-publishing!
Results
• A 32-page book for young readers PreK-3
• Ran a pop-up shop in downtown Los Angeles
• Established an Etsy store with paper products and tiny wearables inspired by the story’s characters
• Gained 2 memorable years of writing, editing, and art-making at cafes across LA
• My first physical book distributed amongst family, friends, and neighbors
